Chanel Reinventing Their Fragrance No. 5

The House of Chanel in reinventing its fragrance No 5 to make it younger.  It will be called No 5  Eau Première.

The fragrance Chanel No 5 was created in the 1920s, and is successful around the world.  Its design was even exhibited at the Museum of Modern Art in New York.

Today, Vanity Fair announced that Chanel has decided to transform its No 5  into No 5 Eau Première.

The work of Chanel’s Jacques Polge was intended to conserve the essential properties of the original perfume, while refreshing its appeal.

Christopher Sheldrake, an employee at Chanel stated, "We needed to re-interpret Chanel No. 5 for the modern era. No. 5 can be like one’s mother’s fragrance, and Eau Première is certainly younger. No. 5 can also be an evening fragrance, but Eau Première is a fragrance you can wear all day long."
