Chanel style at your fingertips

Three new limited edition nail polishes.

French fashion house Chanel is launching its new limited edition nail polish collection for fall 2011 with three new shades, reports Le Blog Luxe.

One of the new shades, Graphite, was paired with Karl Lagerfeld’s volcano-inspired runway fashions at the Chanel fall-winter show in March. Graphite is now joined by a green Péridot and mother-of-pearl Quartz shade.

The polishes are already available on the Chanel website, retailing for $25 a bottle. These limited edition shades will not last long if history is any indicator – previous limited edition colors Jade and Particulière sold out extremely quickly and now fetch over $150 a bottle on eBay.

"State-of-the-art formula strengthens and moisturizes nails as it delivers long-wearing, high-shine, chip-resistant color," promises the company website.

To get the longest wear out of the new shades, the polish can be paired with Chanel’s own protective base coat and Extreme Shine Nails Lacquer top coat.

The famous French fashion house was founded by its namesake, the couturier Gabrielle "Coco" Chanel. In 1909, Chanel opened a small shop on the main level of French socialite Étienne Balsan’s Parisian apartment.

By 1910, Chanel had acquired a more permanent shop location and soon rose to prominence in the fashion world. Today, the privately-held company operates more than 310 locations worldwide.
