Channing Tatum is "so excited" about becoming a father.
The 32-year-old actor’s wife Jenna Dewan-Tatum is expecting the couple’s first child and they can’t wait for the birth next year.
A source said: "Channing is so excited. He’s been wanting this a long time. They are over the moon about becoming parents."
Friends also believe the couple will be fantastic parents.
The source explained to Us Weekly magazine: "They will be outstanding parents. They don’t take anything too seriously. And they’re just each other’s best friends."
"Channing will be happy no matter what the baby is. But he’d love to have a little boy to throw the ball around with."
Channing and Jenna – who met on the set of ‘Step Up’ in 2006 and married in 2009 – announced the actress’ pregnancy earlier this week.
The actor’s representative said: "Jenna Dewan-Tatum and Channing Tatum are pleased to announce that they are expecting the birth of their first child next year."
The ‘Magic Mike’ actor recently revealed he wants a large family, but admitted Jenna may not agree.
He said: "I’m ready; I think she’s ready. The first number that pops into my head is three, but I just want one to be healthy and then we’ll see where we go after that."
"It’s really easy for us guys to say, ‘I want like 15 kids’, Jenna will be like, ‘Well you better get another wife!’"
