There were rumours that Angelina Jolie topped the list to play Ravenna, the villainous Queen from the classic fairy tale, Snow White. However, the actress is busy directing her first feature film, and is already attached to the role in Maleficent Tim Burton’s version of Sleeping Beauty.
So, producers have now turned to Charlize Theron for Snow White and the Huntsman, reports Empire Online. From serial killer to evil queen shouldn’t be too much of a stretch for the beautiful actress.
Tom Hardy has also been announced for the role of the hunter who leads Snow White in the forest. The film follows the main storyline of the traditional fairy tale with a new twist that has the huntsman and heroine teaming up, buddy movie-style, to escape the Queen’s evil plans.
In the meantime, the busy actress stars in Jason Reitman’s romantic comedy, Young Adult, to be released in 2011. At the end of next year, she is also set to play in the latest sequel, Mad Max: Fury Road, and possibly reprise her role in Hancock 2 opposite Will Smith, scheduled for 2012.
