Women’s Wear Daily announced that Gainsbourg, who is often linked with the brand Balenciaga, will be starring in an ad campaign for the label’s first fragrance with artistic director Nicolas Ghesquière at the helm.
For the occasion, Balenciaga is teaming with the fragrance giant Coty to create a unique scent. ‘It was less about who can we get to endorse it and was more about developing a fragrance around her and Nicolas’ thoughts," explained Catherine Walsh, the vice-president of Coty marketing.
The perfume, which has not yet been named, is set for distribution in February 2010.
