Charlotte Gainsbourg heads west

The French singer has six concerts planned before heading to the Coachella festival.

Charlotte Gainsbourg, the daughter of French icon Serge Gainsbourg and Jane Birkin, decided to schedule a few concerts before her big date at the Coachella Festival. That highly anticipated music event is taking place in Indio, California on April 16-18.

She begins the tour with a performance at the Vogue Theater in Vancouver on April 11 and another in Victoria on April 12. She then crosses the border, direction Coachella festival, with stops on the way in Seattle (April 14), Portland (April 15) and San Francisco (April 17).

After the California festival wraps up, Gainsbourg will travel to Chicago for a gig on April 21 before heading to Montreal for two shows at the Olympia Theatre on April 23 and 24. Her North American tour ends with a final show in New York City on April 25.

Charlotte Gainsbourg is promoting her album IRM on this tour. She recorded it last year with Beck. One song on the album is a cover of a famous Quebecois song by Jean-Pierre Ferland, Le Chat du Café des Artistes.
