Charlotte Gainsbourg working on new material

French singer-actress plans to launch double album this autumn.

French singer and actress Charlotte Gainsbourg is in the studio putting the finishing touches on several new songs for an album that she plans to launch this fall, reports Clash Music.

Released in January 2010, her last album IRM was produced by American singer-songwriter Beck, who wrote most of the music, co-wrote the lyrics, and produced and mixed the album. Released in 2009, the lead single, Heaven Can Wait, a duet by Beck and Gainsbourg, was voted one of the top 20 music videos that year by Spin magazine.

Gainsbourg’s upcoming double album Live and Unreleased will also include a tour documentary DVD. She plans to release two tracks as a limited edition 7-inch single for Record Store Day.

Fans can preview the song Memoirs written by Conor O’Brien of the Villagers. The track was produced by O’Brien and Feist collaborator Renaud Letang.
