Cheese Is Back on the Market

Tests have revealed that several types of cheeses are not carriers of the bacteria Listeria.

The cheeses by Riopelle de l’Isle, Tomme de Grosse-Île, and Mi-Carême, sold at  the Fromagerie de l’Île-aux-Grues, and Mont-Jacob, sold at the Fromagerie Blackburn, are not contaminated with the bacteria, reports Cyberpresse.ca.

The Canadian Food Inspection Agency and the Ministry of Agriculture, Fisheries and Food of Quebec have conducted tests on these cheeses and found negative results for listeria.

The Fromagerie de l’Île-aux-Grues had been suspended from selling the cheeses since August 28, until testing could be completed.  The Fromagerie Blackburn was also banned from selling Mont-Jacob cheese from August 25 until the first of September.
