Children Design Roller Coaster At Disney World

Children can create their own roller coaster ride at Walt Disney World.

Epcot Center at Walt Disney World, Florida, today (October 14) opened a roller coaster simulator which may interest creative children and increase their mathematical skills at the same time.

The Sum of All Thrills roller coaster allows children to design their own ride and then test it out in a simulator.

After a short introductory course, children can design their ride using a touchscreen TV. They will choose what vehicle they will use and how fast it will go based on the ascent, the number of inversions and corkscrews. The information is recorded on a card which they insert in the simulator for them to experience their ride.

This ride was sponsered by the Raytheon company, to educate children in basic mathematical principals. The company would also like to recruit, with the parents help, smart and talented youth.
