Chris Cornell launches live compilation album

Songbook due in stores November 21.

American rock musician Chris Cornell will launch his career-spanning Songbook collection just in time for the holidays, reports Consequence of Sound.

A collection of live recordings from his recent Songbook Tour, the album’s 16 tracks will include Cornell’s solo hits as well as a few recordings from his time with Soundgarden, Audioslave, and Temple of the Dog.

The LP also includes two special cover tracks – Led Zeppelin’s Thank You and John Lennon’s Imagine – as well as Cornell’s latest single, The Keeper, which he recorded for the Machine Gun Preacher soundtrack.

The album arrives in stores on November 21. Fans who attend his solo Songbook Tour will be eligible for a free digital copy, included in the ticket price.

Cornell is also currently working on a new album from his recently-reunited band Soundgarden. Expected out in spring 2012, the as-yet-unnamed LP will be a follow-up to their 1996 album, Down on the Upside.
