Chris Cornell plans solo acoustic tour

Soundgarden frontman will perform alone on stage with acoustic guitar for Songbook tour.

Since the reunion of Seattle band Soundgarden has been keeping its band members busy, lead singer and guitarist Chris Cornell, is taking a little time for himself this spring with a brief solo tour.

For his Songbook tour, Cornell intends to take to the stage alone, save for his acoustic guitar. In addition to a few choice covers, the hard rock singer-songwriter will perform songs from throughout his catalog. As a band member, the repertoire could include songs from Soundgarden, Audioslave, and even Temple of the Dog.

The idea for the Songbook tour came to him in December 2009 when he played an intimate concert at the Hotel Cafe in Los Angeles.

From April 1 to May 6, Cornell will visit 25 cities, including Toronto (April 20), Edmonton (April 26) Medicine Hat (April 27) and Victoria (29 April).
