Chris Pine as the New Jack Ryan

Chris Pine could be the fourth actor to play Jack Ryan on the big screen.

After learning yesterday (October 13) that Pine was in talks to star in The Art of Making Money, the actor added a new project onto his schedule, reports Variety.

If a contract is signed with Paramount Pictures, Pine would be the fourth actor to play the hero of Tom Clancy’s novels, CIA analyst Jack Ryan.

Since the film is still in development, no details have been revealed about the story.

In the past, Alec Baldwin played Jack Ryan in 1990’s The Hunt for Red October, Harrison Ford starred as the character in 1992’s Patriot Games and 1994’s Clear and Present Danger, and Ben Affleck was the last to take on the role in The Sum of All Fears (2002).

In the meantime, Chris Pine is filming Unstoppable with Denzel Washington. The film is headed for theatres on November 12, 2010.
