Chris Pine wants a funny, intelligent woman.

The 32-year-old actor is single after he and model Dominique Piek recently called time on their relationship, almost a year after going public, and Chris has revealed what he is looking for in a new love.

He told chat show host Ellen DeGeneres: " I think anything that any normal man would be looking for. I mean intelligence and beauty and someone who can make me laugh …

"Well, you have to be able to carry a conversation. I think after the initial attraction kind of dies down. The lust dies down. There has to be the thing that engages you."

However, Ellen joked that Chris’ stipulations were not normal as most men would find a "great body" more important than intelligence.

She said: "That’s not normal. You started with intelligence. That shows how sensitive you are …They usually start with beautiful and there’s probably great body all these things. Intelligence isn’t usually not the first thing they say."

Chris previously admitted to being a "late bloomer" and has spoken out about his love of therapy.

He said: "I was a shy kid, a late bloomer. At 22, I was probably 16 emotionally.

"Therapy’s like going to the gym. We have one shot at this life, and we have all these potentials and capabilities, so what I’m interested in is how can you live so that by the end, you’ve truly investigated yourself and lived life to the full?"
