Christian Lacroix auction

A Christian Lacroix vintage couture collection will be auctioned off.

According to a report in FashionMag, the last couture collection created by Christian Lacroix for Patou will be sold at an auction on March 27-28 by Chayette & Cheval.

This collection by Christian Lacroix was launched in 1987 before he created his own fashion house.

Presented during the 1987 spring/summer show, the collection consists of 60 dresses that will be sold at Drouot by Jean de Moüy, a relative of Jean Patou.

Lacroix started his own design house the same year with support from the Louis Vuitton Moët Hennessy SA group, number one in the luxury world. The designer was also named artistic director of the Florentine design house Emilio Pucci.

Christian Lacroix revealed in 2009 that it was having severe financial problems resulting from the 2008 economic crisis.
