Sun, sand, and religion? The island of Majorca, Spain, in the Mediterranean, may become the site of a large theme park dedicated to the Bible and Jesus Christ, according to quotidiendutourisme.com.

Awaiting approval from authorities, the $10 million project extends over seven hectares in the northern, mountainous part of this Mediterranean paradise.

The Christian theme park will allow visitors to relive scenes from the Old and New Testaments, including the creation of mankind, the birth of Jesus Christ, and perhaps the crucifixion.

Spain is home to some of the most beautiful churches and cathedrals in the world, as well as the famous Christian pilgrimage route, Camino de Santiago or St. James’ Way.

If construction goes ahead, it will not be the first of its kind, since there are already such parks in the U.S. and Latin America. Wouldn’t it be nice if visitors could swim and walk on the water?
