Christie Brinkley launches vegan skincare line

American supermodel personally tests and uses her own anti-aging skincare products.

American supermodel and actress Christie Brinkley has launched her own line of environmentally-friendly vegan cosmetics to share her beauty secrets with the world, reports InStyle.

The perky, all-American blonde – beautiful and radiant at 57 – is perhaps best known for appearing on three consecutive issues of the Sports Illustrated Swimsuit Issue in the ’70s and ’80s, and was also a long-term brand ambassador for CoverGirl.

Brinkley’s DNA Renewal System – an anti-aging skincare line – is fully vegan and contains no parabens (chemicals commonly used in the cosmetics industry as a preservative). The line contains both a day and night cream, both formulated with a special process called Active Epigenetic Technology, which promises to speed up the cellular regeneration process to repair skin and reverse the signs of aging.

"Both treatments have a rich and creamy texture and penetrate the skin easily, leaving a non-greasy feel," Brinkley writes on the company’s official website. "The skin feels significantly smoother with improved tone and texture. Both treatments utilize natural and vegan ingredients derived from exotic botanicals and plant stem cells, so they’re in harmony with the planet."

A human and animal rights activist, as well as an environmentalist, she explained that she "specifically chose packaging that is eco-friendly and refillable, so we can do our part in preserving our environment, while looking our best!"
