Christina Aguilera to be honoured at People’s Choice Awards

Christina Aguilera will be presented with the People’s Voice 2013 accolade at next year’s People’s Choice Awards in honour of her achievements in the music industry.

Christina Aguilera will be honoured for her achievements in music at the 2013 People’s Choice Awards.

The 32-year-old singer – who has been nominated in the Favourite Celebrity Judge category for her work on the US version of ‘The Voice’ – will be named People’s Voice 2013 at the ceremony in recognition of her work in the industry which has seen her sell more than 50 million albums and win five Grammy Awards.

Christina will also perform at the event, which is being held at Los Angeles’ Nokia Theatre on January 9, 2013, and executive producer Mark Burnett "cannot wait" to see the blonde beauty take to the stage.

He said: "I am thrilled to announce that Christina Aguilera is joining Jason Aldean as a performer at the People’s Choice Awards.

"Christina is one of my dearest friends and lights up literally every stage she steps onto. And I am so glad that I get to work with the amazing Jason Aldean again. I cannot wait to see these performances live on show night!"

Adam Levine, Christina’s fellow judge on ‘The Voice’, tops the 2013 People’s Choice Awards nominations after receiving five nods in recognition for his work on the talent show as well as with Maroon 5.

The frontman is up for accolades in the Favourite Band, Favourite Song, Favourite Album, Favourite Music Video, Favourite Celebrity Judge and Favourite Competition TV Show categories.

Justin Bieber has been nominated in five categories, including Favourite Male Artist, while fellow hunk Channing Tatum picked up four nods, and actress beauties Jennifer Lawrence and Emma Stone have three nominations apiece.

Voting has opened on Peopleschoice.com as well as on Facebook and Twitter until December 13.
