Christine McVie has rejoined Fleetwood Mac.

The band have confirmed the former member – who left the group in 1998 – has reunited with them and they are currently in the process of lining up a tour, with details to be announced this year.

The statement to Billboard magazine read: ”Christine McVie has indeed rejoined Fleetwood Mac and we are hoping to make an announcement about a possible tour for the full tilt Macsters some time in 2014.”

The 70-year-old singer joined the rock band – consisting of Mick Fleetwood, John McVie, Stevie Nicks and Lindsey Buckingham – for their Fleetwood Mac Live London shows last year and expressed an interest in reuniting with the group not long after.

She told the Guardian newspaper in November: ”I like being with the band, the whole idea of playing music with them. I miss them all.”

Christine – who was married to bassist John until they divorced in 1976 – played with Fleetwood Mac for 28 years, and wrote some of their most famous songs, including; ‘Don’t Stop’ and ‘Little Lies’.

Meanwhile, the group were forced to cancel their 14 date tour of Australia and New Zealand last year after John was diagnosed with cancer.

However, Christine said at the time that her ex-husband was doing ”really good”.

She said: ”He’s having his treatment in LA right now, but they caught it really early so he should be up and running in a couple of months.”
