The artistic director for Burberry was crowned as 2009’s Designer of the Year during the British Fashion Awards, reports Vogue.
The designer received several awards this year. In June, Bailey was promoted to the ranks of Member of the Order of the British Empire for his accomplishments in the fashion industry. About a month ago, he was also honoured at the ACE Awards for his accessories collection.
During Fashion Week in London, which celebrated its 25th anniversary, Bailey introduced his spring/summer 2010 collection for Burberry Prorsum, which was the highlight of the week. This collection included lightweight, ruffled dresses that were accented at the waist with a leather belt.
The label usually presents runway shows in Milan, but this year chose to hold the show in London as an exception. Bailey now intends to continue presenting Burberry shows in London.
