Clive Owen Plans Next Film

Clive Owen will play a widower left with two sons in the film The Boys Are Back.

Miramax Films has acquired the North American and European (excluding Spain) rights to produce the film The Boys Are Back.  The project will be directed by Scott Hicks and will star Clive Owen, according to The Hollywood Reporter.

The film adaptation, written by Allan Cubitt, is based on the Simon Carr novel, "The Boys Are Back in Town," which tells the story of a widower struggling to raise his two sons alone.

Laura Fraser and Emma Booth will also star in the film, which begins shooting today (September 29) in Australia.

We can next see Clive Owen in the films The International on February 13, 2009, and in Duplicity, opening on March 20.
