The film will be a remake of the French film Quai des orfevres. Dean Georgaris (Paycheck, The Manchurian Candidate) wrote the screenplay.
In the French film, two detectives battle to see who’ll be the first to bring down a brazen gang of armored-car burglars. Gerard Depardieu and Daniel Auteuil loriginally played the two plain-clothers who were forced to compete for a promotion.
Filming is set to begin later this year in New York. Paramount will distribute the film.
