NME.com reports that Coldplay is working in the recording studio without Chris Martin.
The singer was cut out of the session at the insistence of their manager, Brian Eno, who said Viva La Vida was good, but he knows the band can do better.
Coldplay will be working without Martin for two weeks, while the singer spends his time performing solo acoustic shows.
