Coldplay tops chart…for insomniacs

Hotel survey discovers most travellers fall asleep to Coldplay’s music.

Coldplay is number one on the charts for insomniacs according to a British survey by the Travelodge hotel chain.

When asked about which music they turned to help them fall asleep, respondents’ number one answer was Coldplay, which seems a little surprising given the British band’s energetic concerts. It appears, however, that Chris Martin’s lilting tones during the band’s ballads had the most soothing effect.

Second place goes to Canadian crooner, Michael Bublé, whose deep melodic voice had similar results for wakeful travellers.

Only three women were listed in the top ten: Alicia Keys in fourth, followed by Taylor Swift in sixth, and Leona Lewis managed to beat out Radiohead for ninth place. This could open up a whole new market for the adult lullaby compilation disc.
