Coldplay’s Response to Satriani Lawsuit

Members of Coldplay have responded to the plagiarism allegations filed against them.

The band Coldplay has has something to say regarding the copyright infringements lawsuit filed by guitarist Joe Satriani. The group was accused of having stolen the melody of Satriani’s song, If I Could Fly, and using it in the hit single Viva La Vida, reports RollingStone.

On their official Website, the British group published a statement reading, “With the greatest possible respect to Joe Satriani, we have now unfortunately found it necessary to respond publicly to his allegations. If there are any similarities between our two pieces of music, they are entirely coincidental, and just as surprising to us as to him. Joe Satriani is a great musician, but he did not write the song Viva La Vida."
