Despite a serious shoulder injury that will require surgery, Cole Caufield ‘s smile is as bright as ever. The 22-year-old held a press conference before the Montreal Canadiens’ practice on Friday, and afterwards, he showed up at the rink to make his teammates laugh.
Caufield was wearing a big hat, which made many people laugh. He even allowed himself a few maneuvers with a stick, showing how bored he is with the game he loves so much.

That said, during his little conference, Caufield mentioned that his surgery will take place in Colorado next Wednesday. Dr. Peter Millett, the same doctor who operated on Josh Anderson for essentially the same injury, will be in charge of Cole.
The young forward also said thathe suffered this injury the first time against the Dallas Stars in the last game before Christmas. He then aggravated it in early January against the Nashville Predators.
Of course, the coaches have to hide Caufield’s sticks and skates to prevent him from jumping on the ice.
If the Canadiens were in the playoffs, he would have delayed his surgery.
