Colin Farrell, Ed Harris, Jim Sturgess and Saoirse Ronan are in final negotiations to star in the upcoming Peter Weir (Master and Commander) film, entitled The Way Back.
Weir wrote the screenplay based on the memoires of Slavomir Rawicz. The story is based on true events and follows a group of soldiers who escape a Siberian concentration camp in 1942.
Farrell would play a tattooed Russian, while Harris would play an American, and Sturgess would play a Polish prisoner. Ronan would play a Russian on the run who meets up with the other fugitives.
Filming is set to begin in March in Bulgaria.
