Colorado Ghost Town Brought to Life

Long-forgotten in the hills of Colorado, Dunton Hot Springs has been revived for tourists.

Built in the 1880s by an ambitious miner who wanted to make a fortune, the town of Dunton Hot Springs, located at an altitude of over 8 600 feet above sea level, has long since been abandoned before it was taken over by local hippies in the 70s.

Recently, a group of investors decided to breathe a second life into Dunton Hot Springs, and renovated the little town to welcome up to 42 visitors who can book a stay as a group. The renovations were done with care, in order not to disturb the appearance of the ghost town, which is its primary point of attraction.

With saloons in the backdrop, this ancient Western village can be rented out for $10 000 to $17 500 per week, depending on the particular package.

With proximity to ski resorts, Dunton Hot Springs makes the perfect destination for those looking to veer off the beaten path.
