It’s the ComediHa! salute to Montreal, and it’s shaping up to be a very promising event!

From July 18 to 28, the festival will offer a multitude of activities at the Place des Festivals, in the heart of the Quartier des spectacles, as well as at Place des Arts,Espace St-Denis and Théâtre du Vieux-Terrebonne. Hundreds of thousands of citizens and visitors will have the opportunity to take part in this exceptional event.

In previous years, these dates were hosted by the Just for Laughs festival. This year, however, the event will not be held due to a petition for protection under the Bankruptcy and Insolvency Act, filed by the famous entertainment company.

“Montreal has always been a hub of the comedy industry, with its cultural, tourism and economic spin-offs. It would have been inconceivable for our city not to have a festival worthy of the name this summer (…) On behalf of the industry, the comedy community and its many artisans, I sincerely thank them. Hi Montreal, we’ll be there on July 18,” says Sylvain Parent-Bédard, President and CEO of ComediHa!

ComediHa! has saved the day for many of us of late, coming to the rescue of Jean-Marc Parent’s musical WAITRESS with its JMP event, which moved to Quebec City, and now, thanks to the company, Montrealers will be treated to a comedy festival.

Although the event’s program is still unknown, one thing is certain: smiles, fun and humor will be the order of the day!
