Next week, O’Brien will pay the salaries of nearly 80 of his employees for Late Night With Conan O’Brien. His writers have not been working for nearly a month, since the strike began on November 5.
The host wants to honour the loyalty that his staff has shown over the years. O’Brien also believes that the situation is temporary, and he doesn’t want his employees to struggle financially, particularly during the holidays.
Other celebrities are showing less solidarity with the writers. Carson Daly has started to write episodes for his show Last Call.
