Connie Britton to star in American Ultra

Connie Britton is set to star alongside Kirsten Stewart and Jesse Eisenberg in ‘American Ultra’.

Connie Britton will replace Sharon Stone in ‘American Ultra’.

The actress will join Kristen Stewart and Jesse Eisenberg in the project which is being helmed by ‘Project X’ director Nima Nourizadeh, Lionsgate have announced.

The film features Eisenberg as a ”hapless and unmotivated stoner”, named Mike, whose small-town life with his girlfriend, played by Stewart, is suddenly turned upside down when his secret past as a sleeper agent in a government operation, which was created by Britton’s character, catches up with him.

Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind’s Anthony Bregman, alongside Kevin Frakes, Raj Brinder Singh, The Walking Dead’s David Alpert and Britton Rizzio will produce for PalmStar, Likely Story and Circle of Confusion with Ray Angelic taking on the role of executive producer.

The film has already began shooting in New Orleans and is tipped for a 2015 release.

Meanwhile, Britton is set to hit the big screen later this year in ‘This Is Where I Leave You’ opposite Jason Bateman, Tina Fey and Adam Driver.
