The American television series, which just debuted this year, has been suspended so that its star, Courteney Cox, can deal with a family matter.
Representatives for the actress refused to give any details about the urgent matter. "We can confirm production on ‘Cougar Town’ has been temporarily shut down in order for Courteney to deal with a private family matter," revealed ABC.
Cox, who plays single mother Jules Cobb in the series, is also a producer for the show. The 45-year-old actress, who is married to actor David Arquette, recently mentioned that she would like to have more children before it’s too late. The two stars are already the parents of a 5-year-old daughter, Coco.
"If I was 34, I’d wait another year. I want Coco to be helping me with the next one. One child is hard. Two is probably harder," said the star.
Cox and Arquette will both be starring in Scream IV with Neve Campbell. The film hits theatres in April 2010.
