According to a study conducted by Kagan Research, the film from director Ron Howard beat competition from Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Man’s Chest.
The film, which starred Tom Hanks and Audrey Tautou, earned $1.2 million world wide. The Da Vinci Code cost $367 million to produce.
Although Pirates of the Caribbean earned more money at the box offices, with $1.8 million, the cost of making the film was much higher, making it not as profitable.
