Daft Punk is back

Fans want to believe reports the house duo is getting ready to release new material.

As Clashmusic.com puts it: "Daft Punk are one of the most influential house duos of all time."

The French duo has released only three studio albums in their 17-year long career. Their latest and fourth studio effort is actually a soundtrack for the science fiction film Tron: Legacy. It reportedly took them only two weeks to write the music and four weeks to record it.

This would be the duo’s first release since Human After All came out in 2005.

The movie stars Jeff Bridges and Michael Sheen. Daft Punk is also apparently making an appearance in the film, playing MP3 programmers.

The film is scheduled to be released on November 23. The Daft Punk soundtrack should be released on the same day.

This is not the first time that Daft Punk music has been in a film. When their second album was released, designer Leiji Matsumoto asked for permission to use the 14 songs from Discovery on the animated film called Interstella 5555: The 5tory of the 5ecret 5tar 5ystem.
