Daniel Day-Lewis to Work with Martin Scorsese

Daniel Day-Lewis will be in a new film, directed by Martin Scorsese.

After working together in The Age of Innocence and Gangs of New York, Daniel Day-Lewis and Martin Scorsese will be making a new film called Silence.

The star is currently in negotiations for his role.  Benicio Del Toro and Gael Garcia Bernal are also in talks for a part.

Silence was inspired by the novel of the same name by Shusaku Endo.  The story follows two priests who meet with violence and persecution when they travel to Japan to meet their mentor and spread Christianity.

Filming is set to begin later this year in New Zealand.

Daniel Day-Lewis has just finished working on the musical film Nine, which will be released on November 25.
