Danny Boyle Wins at the DGA Awards

Danny Boyle was named best director by the Directors Guild of America.

Danny Boyle, the director of Slumdog Millionaire, earned the award for best director at the Directors Guild of America Awards (DGA) on Saturday (January 31).

Boyle was competing against David Fincher (The Curious Case of Benjamin Button), Ron Howard (Frost/Nixon) Gus Van Sant (Milk) and Christopher Nolan (The Dark Knight).

The Slumdog Millionaire director also received three Golden Globe awards recently.

At the Screen Actors Guild Awards, Slumdog Millionaire was honoured for having the best ensemble cast, and for the Producers Guild of America Awards, the film’s producers won a prize.

On February 7, screenwriters will be handing out their awards, and Slumdog Millionaire is up to grab the trophy for best script. For the upcoming Oscars ceremony on February 22, the film was nominated 10 times.
