Dark side to The Ting Tings’ new album

New album from English pop rock duo has a dark side.

English pop rock duo, The Ting Tings, revealed that their forthcoming new album will have more of a dark side than their debut album, We Started Nothing.

Over the last year, Katie White and Jules De Martino recorded their new album in Berlin, Germany. The album entitled Kunst, which means ‘art’ in German, contains songs of a more serious flavour than previous Ting Tings’ songs.

“It was hard for us to judge this LP because we’re always wrong, we say we have made a more serious record and then people will think it’s really uplifting,” said De Martino. "I think this album has a dark side to it, more so than the first one."

The album is set to be released in 2011, but no launch date has yet been confirmed. The album’s first single, Hands, however, was released in October 2010 where it debuted at number 29 on the UK Singles Chart, making it the duo’s fifth Top 40 single. It also topped the Billboard Dance Charts.
