Dave Grohl Hits Studios without Foo Fighters

Dave Grohl of the Foo Fighters has become part of an odd trio.

Rumours dating as far back as 2005 claimed that Foo Fighters’ Dave Grohl, Josh Homme from Queens Of The Stone Age and Led Zeppelin’s John Paul Jones were planning to collaborate. Now it seems that these rumours are becoming more concrete.

Grohl and Homme were both working in the same studio, which is not a big surprise, but the addition of Jones, 63, who has been Led Zeppelin’s bassist since the group formed in 1968, has piqued curiosity. The unlikely trio headed into the studio today to record some songs.

Although the threesome are being secretive about their project, Homme’s friend, Brody Dalle of the band Spinnerette, heard a little bit of their new material and commented, “I’m not at liberty to talk about it… but I think [the project] is pretty fucking amazing," and added, "Just beats and sounds like you’ve never heard before.”
