The Secret is based on a Japanese book by Keigo Higashino who has already done a screen adaptation in Japan in 1999.
The thriller is the story of a man who’s life changes after an accident kills his wife, and then her spirit inhabits their daughter.
In addition to Duchovny, in the lead role as the father, Lili Taylor (The Haunting) will play the mother. Olivia J. Thirlby will make her theatre debut as the daughter.
For French actor Vincent Perez, it will be the second time for him to direct a full-length film, he previously directed Peau d’Ange in 2002.
