The ‘I Remember’ dance music icon has hit out at the rapper, ruling out ever teaming up with him on a track.
When asked who he would like to collaborate with, he told Vibe magazine: "Anyone other than f***ing Kanye. I f***ing hate him."
The 32-year-old Canadian DJ also dismissed the term ‘EDM,’ short for Electronic Dance Music’ – the scene he is associated with -saying, "Yeah, I just renamed it. I called it ‘Event-Driven Marketing.’ "
The outspoken star also said that if he were ever in trouble the first person he would reach out to would be Motley Crue’s drummer.
He added: "If I’m having problems with my label, I can always talk to Tommy Lee, who’s been sued more times than anyone I know. It makes my life not feel so f***ing bad."
deadmau5 – real name Joel Zimmerman – later took to Twitter to brush off the comments, writing: "Holy crap! … Jesus, I say some gnarly s**t sometimes(sic). Hahahaha. Oh man. I don’t even remember that one. Oh well (sic).
"I’m done, that ones to bed, lets move on (sic)."
The DJ’s latest record, ‘> album title goes here <‘ was nominated for a Grammy award in the ‘Best Dance/Electronica Album’ category last Sunday (10.02.13), but he was beaten by the Skrillex with his ‘Bangarang’ EP.
