Messing was cast in this movie by State Street Pictures and 2DS Productions, under the direction of Alfredo De Villa (Washington Heights). The rest of the cast includes Freddy Rodriguez, John Leguizamo, Alfred Molina, Jay Hernandez, Mercedes Ruehl, Luis Guzman, Melonie Diaz and Vanessa Ferlito.
The story, written by Rick Najera, Ted Perkins and Alison Swan, tells the story of a Latino family from Chicago’s rough Humboldt Park neighbourhood.
The movie will start shooting next week in Chicago.
