Def Leppard to tour U.S. with Heart

British rock band plans summer tour featuring Heart as special guest.

Legendary English rock band, Def Leppard, has announced a summer tour in the U.S. which will kick off on June 15 in West Palm Beach, Florida. Joining Def Leppard for this highly-anticipated tour are rock legends Heart – the band formed in British Columbia, Canada by American sisters Ann and Nancy Wilson.

Leppard’s career includes numerous hit singles and multi-platinum albums — including Pour Some Sugar on Me, Hysteria, and Armageddon It. The rockers have earned their stripes as one of the most enduring and successful touring acts in history.

"After having had the last 18 months off, Leppard are ready to get back on the road! Add Heart to the bill and it truly makes for a special evening," said singer Joe Elliott.

Heart showed the world that women can rock when they stormed the charts with hits like Crazy on You, Magic Man, and Barracuda, and many more, showcasing the sisters’ enormous talents as both musicians and singers.

"Nancy and I are really excited to be bringing Heart to the stage this summer with Def Leppard. It’s going to be a powerful, monster show. The real thing. The summer of 2011 will be amazing," said singer Ann Wilson.

Def Leppard’s last studio album in 2008 was entitled Songs from the Sparkle Lounge, and the band is currently working on Mirrorball, a live album with three new studio tracks due out this summer. Heart’s Red Velvet Car album debuted last year at number 10 on the U.S. Billboard 200.
