According to Variety, actor Denzel Washington will star in the post-apocalyptic film Book of Eli from Warner Bros.
Washington will play a lone warrior who travels across America in an effort to help society redeem itself with knowledge.
Washington will produce the film with Joel Silver, Susan Downey, and Andrew Kosove and Broderick Johnson of Alcon Entertainment. Filming is set to begin in January.
Washington last starred in the film The Great Debaters. Fans will have to wait until July, 2009 to see Denzel on the silver screen next, when he stars in the thriller, The Taking of Pelham 123, with John Travolta.
