The author of Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas committed suicide last month at his residence in Colorado.
Following the wishes of the writer, only friends and family were invited to the memorial service celebrating his life at the Jerome Hotel in Aspen, Colorado.
Depp and Cusack appeared with Thompson in 2003 in a documentary about the author’s life, entitled, Breakfast With Hunter.
Depp had also played Thompson in the 1998 cult film Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas.
