Details on the next Woody Allen pic

Woody Allen breaks with tradition and unveils some details about his next film.

The Hollywood Reporter informs us that Woody Allen did something he doesn’t usually do… the famously eccentric director offered details about his next romantic comedy, Midnight in Paris. He is filming in Paris this summer and confirmed the cast will include the First Lady of France, Carla Bruni-Sarkozy.

The director has a lot of famous names in the cast, including Owen Wilson, Marion Cotillard, Rachel McAdams, Kathy Bates, Michael Sheen, Nina Arianda, Tom Hiddleston, Corey Stoll, Mimi Kennedy and Kurt Fuller.

The film follows a family on a business trip to Paris. A young engaged couple will have their life torn apart. The renowned director says: "The film celebrates a young man’s great love for Paris, and simultaneously explores the illusion people have that a life different from their own is better."

Mediapro will finance this new production. It also financed Allen’s last two films, Vicky Cristina Barcelona and the more recent You Will Meet a Tall Dark Stranger.

The film You Will Meet a Tall Dark Stranger starring Naomi Watts, Anthony Hopkins, Antonio Banderas, Josh Brolin and Freida Pinto hits theatres on September 23.
