According to Us Magazine, Dr. Drew has apologized to Tom Cruise, and added that he had no intentions of hurting him.
It all began with an interview for Playboy, when the psychologist implied that the followers of the Church of Scientology must have been victims of some type of neglect or abuse in childhood, because he feels that the religion is based on the need to fill a void inside.
Tom Cruise found the comment very offensive, as he is an active member of the Church of Scientology. Cruise, 45, slammed Dr. Drew, saying he is an "unqualified television performer who is obviously just looking for notoriety."
In 2006, Tom Cruise revealed that his father was, "a bully and a coward."
