Don’t panic if your child bites

Don’t have a cow if your child likes to bite, but don’t let him get away with it either.

It is not surprising that babies bite. This trend is very common among children aged six months to two years. Since little ones cannot speak, they express their displeasure in other ways, by  clapping, shouting, pushing and biting.

Experts say that you should not scold your child, let alone bite back. Parents need to make clear that biting hurts. Show the child the bite marks he made. Apologize to the parents of the child who was bitten. Though your child cannot speak, he can hear. As he gets older, he will start to understand that it is wrong and will lose this annoying habit.

Curiously, biting could also be a manifestation of joy and affection for your child. If he is extremely happy to see his little friends, he might get a little carried away and "devour" them with emotion, ie. bite them. A baby never bites in a premeditated way. it is never planned; it is more compulsive. It is certainly unacceptable, but it’s a simple stage that the child will learn to leave behind.
