Eminem, Drake, and now Dr. Dre. These three artists and more have seen a song or even an entire album leaked online without authorization.
Though some leaks may in fact be part of some overall marketing strategy to promote a song or album, it is clear that this leak was not approved by Dr. Dre. He has stayed behind the mic for the last decade producing material for other stars like Eminem.
The Dr. Dre song is actually a collaboration with another hip hop heavyweight. Under Pressure is the first single off Dre’s new album, Detox, and features Jay-Z. Dre says the song that appeared online is an unfinished version.
Dr. Dre issued a statement about this latest leak on his official website. He commented: "I want to set the record straight for everybody who’s been waiting to hear my music. The song that’s on the internet is an incomplete song that I’m still working on. When it’s ready, you’ll be hearing it from me."
The Rap-Up.com website says the song "is missing a chorus and clocks in at only two-and-a-half minutes."
The rap legend’s third album is scheduled to drop this fall.
