Dr. Pepper Extends Free Drink Offer

Dr. Pepper is struggling to keep its promise of giving away their beverage now that Guns N’ Roses released their album, Chinese Democracy.

If Guns N’ Roses released the highly-awaited Chinese Democracy this year, Dr. Pepper promised to give a free soda to every American.

The album finally hit stores, and at the same time, millions of Americans hit the Dr. Pepper website to get their free soda.  However, the rush of Internet traffic resulted in Dr. Pepper’s site crashing.

In light of the technical difficulties, Dr. Pepper extended their offer until yesterday (November 24).  In addition to obtaining coupons for free soft drinks on the Internet, the company also established a toll-free phone number.

Guns N’ Roses had been working on the Chinese Democracy disc since 1994, and the release date was changed several times before it finally reached stores over the weekend.
