Drake and Florence Welch too busy to collaborate
Canadian rapper Drake and British singer Florence Welch, of Florence and the Machine, first met at the 2010 MTV Video Music Awards, and hit it off immediately, reports MTV News.
Since that meeting, both artists have been vocal about their admiration for each other and about wanting to collaborate. Each has an album due for release in the coming weeks, and fans wondered if the collaboration might be featured on one of their new albums.
Unfortunately, the duo has been too busy to collaborate.
“We haven’t actually done any recording together,” Welch told MTV News. “Whenever I see Drake, we always just end up kind of hanging out, which is equally fun, but no, we haven’t done anything together yet."
"I think we’re both big fans of each other’s work," Welch said. "If we would have the time it is something I would definitely like to do, but we’re both really busy."
For now, their only collaboration remains a duet they sang when Welch joined Drake onstage at a London concert last January for Fireworks, which was originally sung by Alicia Keys on the rapper’s Thank Me Later album.
