Drake and Lil Wayne to perform at BET Awards

Rappers join Chris Brown, Alicia Keys and Jill Scott as confirmed performers.

Rappers Drake and Lil Wayne are confirmed to take the stage at NYC’s Black Entertainment Television Awards ’11, reports Rolling Stone.

They join Chris Brown, Alicia Keys and Jill Scott as confirmed performers for this year’s ceremony, which airs on June 26 at 8 p.m. Eastern Time. Lil Wayne is expected to perform hits from his upcoming album Tha Carter IV, while Drake’s setlist has not yet been revealed.

Drake and Lil Wayne will face off for best male hip hop artist, competing with B.o.B, Rick Boss and Kanye West. Both are also up for best collaboration – Lil Wayne for his feature on the Chris Brown tune, Look At Me Now, and Drake for his feature on Rihanna’s single, What’s My Name.

The show will be hosted by comedian Kevin Hart (The 40-Year-Old Virgin, Soul Plane). Comedian Steve Harvey (The Steve Harvey Show) will receive the humanitarian award, while singer Patti LaBelle of Patti LaBelle and the Bluebells will be the recipient of the lifetime achievement award.
